Methodology
and Course Planning
All-International does not have one single, rigid approach.
By tailoring the tuition as effectively as possible, we stimulate
each client into developing their individual talents.
We call our approach ACTIVE LANGUAGE
LEARNING.
Course planning/preparation is made after carefully establishing
individual or group requirements. This analysis is based on:
- Current level of ability
- Desired level of attainment
- Reasons for learning (areas of focus)
The structure of the course is then designed from the following
criteria:
- Course content and areas of focus
- Course duration
- Length of each study session
- Frequency of lessons
- Students ability to study privately
- Location of the teaching
- Number of participants (group courses)
The overall study period should be as long as possible, giving
time for gestation, reinforcement and revision. Otherwise,
there is a risk that knowledge gained from the course will
not be effectively retained.
We recommend 2 x 60, or 3 x 45 minute lessons, once or twice
a week, over a period of 12-14 weeks.
However, we also recognise the need for short, highly intensive
courses. Those completing these courses should use their new
found skills as quickly as possible, and continue to build
upon this foundation (maybe, by distance learning). |
